About This Class

Bryan Kest leads a wide-ranging dynamic flow that progresses methodically from child's pose and foundational breath awareness through downward facing dog, cat-cow style spinal movements, and repeated sun-salutation-style vinyasa sequences. The class builds through warrior sequences, crescent lunges, core twists, triangle pose, and one-minute warrior II holds before moving into deep hip-opening work with pigeon pose and shoulder-under-leg variations. Backbend intensity is developed gradually through cobra, locust, bow pose, and full cobra holds, culminating in a shoulderstand, plow, and fish pose sequence. The floor cool-down includes half-lotus forward folds, supine twists, and a knees-to-chest counter pose. Bryan consistently frames the practice as an internal, self-compassionate experience — emphasizing breath quality, personal degree of effort, and calm in the face of difficulty. The class closes with a seated compassion meditation and Savasana, inviting students to cultivate a benevolent mindset as the true purpose of yoga.
