About This Class
This energizing lower-body flow is laser-focused on building functional glute strength while improving hip mobility and balance. Byron guides students through a progressive sequence that begins on all fours with controlled leg lifts to isolate the glutes, then moves into Down Dog splits with hand-walking variations, Crescent Pose with intentional pelvic alignment, Standing Splits, Half Moon, Warrior Two, Triangle, and Goddess Pose with Eagle arms. Chair Pose and yogi squat sequences add quad and glute endurance, while prone locust variations on the belly reinforce posterior chain engagement. The class emphasizes mindful mechanics — keeping hips squared, sealing the arches of the feet, and distinguishing glute activation from hamstring compensation — making it as educational as it is challenging. The practice closes with Bridge Pose, happy baby, thread-the-needle twists, and Shavasana for a well-rounded cooldown. Props like blocks are suggested for wrist-sensitive hand-balance variations, and heel elevation (blanket) is offered for tight ankles in the yogi squat.

Especially good class after sitting for too long. It is more demanding than expected and works on parts of the body that are left behind sometimes.

This class felt nice after a day of bending over planting flowers. Good for the whole back side.
