About This Class
This 44-minute Yin class opens on the back with Supta Sukhasana variations using a forearm prop under the lumbar spine to create a passive chest and shoulder opener, paired with Samavritti (equal-ratio breathing) as a meditative anchor throughout. The sequence moves into supine hip work — knee hugs, half happy baby, and a deep reclined hamstring/shoulder stretch — before transitioning to seated. Baddha Konasana is explored in a wide diamond shape as well as a classic version with forward folding. The class then progresses through Janu Sirsasana on each side with an intentional rotational component, building toward the peak pose: Parivrtta Paschimottanasana (revolved seated forward fold), a demanding seated twist-and-bind that targets the outer hips, hamstrings, and the entire length of the spine. Throughout, the instructor layers in philosophical teachings on meditation, intention, loving awareness, and directing prana — making this as much a mindfulness practice as a physical one. The class closes with Shavasana and a seated reflection. Best suited for practitioners looking to release tight hips and hamstrings, decompress the spine after sitting, or cultivate a calm, introspective state.

While some of the poses didn’t feel great during – stick with it – wonderfull after, definitely gets your energy flowing in places that need it!

To be honest, it wasn’t my favourite set of poses, but Dan just has an amazing way of teaching and for the last cross-legged sit, I felt myself sitting taller, lifting from the inside up. That was the magic. xxx

Beautiful class, thanx Dan! It is preferable when camera shoots the teacher than the students, so that from home se can understand the right pose.

I really appreciated the attention to love. Making space for love in the mind, body and life. I did wish for a counter pose at the end, so I took the time for a little gentle bridge before vinyasa. Thank you!!
