About This Class
This Yin fusion class moves through a thoughtful sequence of long-held, floor-based postures designed to reach the deeper connective tissues of the hips, hamstrings, low back, and side body. The class opens with seated breathwork and spinal awareness before moving into bolster-supported reclined twists held for several minutes on each side. A wide-legged straddle pose (Upavistha Konasana) is revisited multiple times with variations including blocks, bolster support, toe-holds, and lateral reaches to the outer foot. Supine strap work systematically opens each leg — including abduction, internal and external rotation — targeting the hamstrings, outer hips, and inner groin. Threading-the-needle hip openers with an active ankle-hold variation add further depth to the outer hip and IT band. Constructive relaxation, happy baby, and a long Savasana close the practice. Throughout, the instructor weaves meditative philosophy, breath awareness, and encouragement to honor individual sensation over depth, making this class ideal for practitioners seeking deep release from tight hips, hamstrings, and a fatigued or stiff lower body.

Great stretch and release, particularly for the sides of the lower back.

Outstanding. It’s the little adjustments that you suggested, that gave a whole new flavor to poses I’ve done a hundred times. Thanks tons DW…????????~*

That was so soothing! I can’t believe I hadn’t tried this one yet. I just needed something mellow, restorative but still stretch. This fit the bill. Thank you Dan ! Great twists and hip stretches!

Dan, I am always thankful for your practices, they are truly created within Yogic spirit. Your creativity and kinesthetic suggestions guide the yogi to connect with her/his Innate, helping to resolve inner conflicts within one’s Central Nervous System (the Prefrontal Cortex , the Hippocampus, and the Amygdala), while also bringing peace to the Anterior Pituitary and the Adrenal Glands. Bless you, Dan. Namaste
