About This Class

This approachable Yin class with Dan Ward offers a comprehensive, floor-anchored journey through the body's deeper connective tissues, progressing methodically from seated Virasana and toe stretches through butterfly, wide-angle, and double pigeon hip openers, to supine hamstring lengthening, a supported bridge, and a quad-twist combination before Savasana. The instructor weaves detailed alignment coaching — emphasizing front rib softening, spinal neutrality, tailbone tucking, and the distinction between fidgeting and wise adjustment — with reflective, emotionally attuned cueing that invites practitioners to observe their inner experience with curiosity and self-compassion. Props (two blocks, a strap or towel) are integrated throughout to make poses accessible and supported. The pace is slow and deliberate, with occasional flowing sequences in butterfly and wide-angle pose to warm and mobilize. The class closes with a richly guided Savasana that frames receptivity as the culmination of a Yin practice, making this ideal for those seeking release from tight hips and hamstrings, desk-related stiffness, or general mobility work in an introspective, grounding atmosphere.

A fantastic yin practice, very soothing if you stay within your limits. I appreciated the variations on familiar poses and the tips on how to get into the hard to reach places. Thank you!
