About This Class
Bryan Kest leads this full-length dynamic flow with his signature mix of grit, humor, and radical self-compassion. The class opens in Child's Pose and Downward Facing Dog before moving through a methodical warm-up of Cobra, Locust, and standing forward folds linked by breath. The heart of the class is a demanding upper-body strengthening sequence—featuring plank, Chaturanga-style lowering, three-legged dog variations, flipping the dog, and arm-balance prep (knee-to-tricep)—performed on both sides with deliberate rest periods in between to avoid burnout. Hip-opening sequences progress from low lunge with elbows to the floor all the way to Pigeon Pose, framed as a cumulative warm-up. Standing work includes Warrior Two, Warrior One, Side Angle, Extended Triangle, Half Forward Fold with airplane arms, and a twisted variation. A floor-based core sequence follows—leg lifts, scissor legs, boat-like holds, and supine twists—before the class winds down with Camel, a seated gratitude meditation, and a long Savasana. Throughout, Bryan emphasizes breath as the non-negotiable foundation, personal degree over performance, consistency over intensity, and self-compassion as the highest form of practice.
