About This Class

Bryan Kest leads this 102-minute approachable flow through a carefully layered sequence that begins in Child's Pose with an emphasis on deep nasal breathing and mindfulness, then builds through multiple rounds of a modified Sun Salutation series (including Downward Dog, Cobra, Chaturanga/Dandasana, standing forward folds, and low lunges). The class incorporates balancing sequences — including a signature "Awkward Airplane" — that develop hip, hamstring, and glute strength alongside core stability. Backbend work culminates in a floor-based Superman/locust series with hands interlaced and bow pose (Dhanurasana), followed by shoulder-opening and spinal decompression movements. The cool-down moves through Plow Pose, Shoulder Stand, Happy Baby, a wide-leg reclined stretch, spinal twists, and a Baddha Konasana forward fold. The final 8+ minutes are devoted to seated gratitude meditation and Savasana. Throughout, Bryan repeatedly cues students to find their personal "sweet spot" between too much and not enough, frames breath-awareness as the defining feature of yoga, and encourages calmness of mind as the central challenge. Props are not used; modifications (knees down, hands for support) are consistently offered.
