About This Class

Bryan Kest leads a deeply personal and philosophically rich 60-minute flow class built around the principle of gentleness as the foundation of all movement. The class opens in Child's Pose and Down Dog, moves through a warm-up sun-salutation sequence (incorporating Plank, Cobra/Up Dog, standing side bends, and a backbend variation with interlaced hands), and then builds into a standing and balancing sequence featuring Uttanasana, Ardha Chandrasana, Airplane Pose, Bent-Knee Balancing, and Crescent Lunge held for a sustained one-minute challenge on each side. From there the class transitions into deep hip-opening work on the floor — including low lunge variations, a reclined quad stretch, and Pigeon Pose — before finishing with a seated wide-leg forward fold, supine twists, and a full Savasana. Bryan continuously coaches students to moderate effort, breathe freely through the nose, avoid straining, and treat the practice as an ever-evolving, ego-free exploration. The class also includes a brief arm-balance exploration (Crow/Elbow Balance introduction). Props such as blocks are mentioned as options. The overall tone is meditative, self-directed, and stress-aware, making it ideal for practitioners who want a thorough full-body flow without aggressive pacing.

Smooth, but still challenging the arm strength and the leg balancing….at least for me:) Maybe a bit too much after a 14 hour car ride and up since 2:30 AM. So much appreciation for this practice !!!!
