About This Class
Bryan Kest leads this expansive flow class with a philosophy of gentleness, body intelligence, and mindful awareness. Beginning in child's pose with an emphasis on deep nasal breathing as a foundation for focus and meditation, the class builds through down dog, a cobra warm-up series, and a classical sun-salutation-style vinyasa flow synchronized to the breath. A rich standing balance sequence follows — including single-leg forward folds with interlaced fingers, hand-to-big-toe pose, and an extended lateral balance — that challenges strength, flexibility, and stamina simultaneously. The class then moves to the floor for bridge pose with optional wheel, dolphin pose, happy baby, a supine wide-leg stretch, plow, and supported shoulderstand, before winding down through a seated gratitude meditation and a long savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently cues students to back off rather than push through pain, breathe freely, and treat the body with care rather than ego-driven ambition. The session is suitable for a range of levels thanks to constant modification options and a tone that prizes sensation and self-inquiry over impressive shapes.

That was a master class in meditating through falling…lol. That standing balancing sequence was a great practice for staying calm thru it all! So it was a great class, just cultivating more strength in acceptance in this one.:)

Thank you, Bryan, I believe that a major challenge that I have with the prolonged leg balances arises from focusing on the “wrong” leg. Relative to benefits of meditation, Dr. Deepak Chopra stated that we have approximately 69,000 thoughts in a day, of which 90% are the same as yesterday, which are the same as the day before and the day before,…. Meditation, with a restricted focus, helps to quiet the 69,000 thoughts. Namaste
