About This Class
Bryan Kest guides students through a challenging yet philosophically rich 67-minute flow class designed to develop strength, flexibility, and mental calmness simultaneously. The class opens in Child's Pose with an extended focus on nasal breathing and mindfulness, framing deep breathing as the foundation for a meditative state throughout movement. The body is progressively warmed through repeated Downward Facing Dog, Cobra, and Plank sequences that build upper-body and core strength without strain. The standing flow incorporates Crescent Lunge, Hero Pose (Warrior), half-moon/side-angle variations, and balancing arm extensions that challenge the hips, glutes, quads, hamstrings, and shoulders bilaterally. Deep hip-opening sequences include a bound low-lunge pose (foot-to-opposite-ankle bind), Makarasana (Fire Log / double pigeon variation), and twisting lunges. An inversion sequence — Shoulderstand transitioning into a supported Plow-like variation — invites blood flow reversal and spinal decompression. Core work appears through leg-lowering holds and knee-to-elbow variations. The class closes with supine twists, knee-to-chest counter poses, and a final Savasana. Bryan consistently emphasizes gentleness, ego-free practice, moderation, and using physical sensation rather than aesthetic ideals to guide each pose.

Perfectly well-round flow – a welcome break from Bryan’s more common Warrior 3 balancing sequence, in favor of some deep hip stretching sequences

Great class for releasing a lot of tension, stress, anxiety, and anything else that may have accumulated in your shoulders, hips, and back. Happy to have found it today!
