About This Class

This class opens on the mat with supine hip openers (Supta Baddha Konasana, Happy Baby, Thread the Needle) before moving through Malasana squats and wide-legged forward folds. The instructor weaves a continuous theme of simplicity and breath consistency throughout, guiding students into extended static holds of Warrior Two, Reverse Warrior, and Side Angle on both sides before transitioning into flowing Sun Salutation A and B rounds. The mid-section builds heat with plank core work, knee-to-tricep drills, Bakasana (optional), and a challenging plank-on-tops-of-feet variation. Standing balance peaks with Warrior Three, Twisting Half Moon, and Tree Pose, followed by low lunge quad/psoas opening and Half Splits. The class cools with Bow Pose, Bridge (with optional Wheel), Pigeon on both sides, a seated twist, and a full Savasana with a guided body-scan meditation. The instructor explicitly frames the practice as a mind-body-spirit experience and uses breath control as the primary tool for presence, making this equally suited to flexibility-seekers and those looking for moving meditation and stress relief.

Paul, my daughter, living in Texas, and I, living in Tennessee, thoroughly enjoyed your lovely practice, while sharing Duo– thank you. It was a brilliant flow that was fun and heat-inducing. You mentioned that, in order to expand, we needed to first contract, this insight was a truth. It is my hopes that our country and our world, both going through contracted states within significant health issues and political unrest, may, within a shift of human consciousness, decompress into elevated levels of healing. Namaste.
