About This Class

This class opens in child's pose and builds steadily through multiple rounds of sun salutations (Cobra, Upward Dog, Chaturanga) before moving into a rich standing sequence featuring Crescent/High Lunge, Warrior One, Warrior Two, Reverse Warrior, Half Moon, Warrior Three, Standing Split, Tree Pose, Side Angle, Triangle, and Temple/Prasarita Virabhadrasana. Core and balance work is woven throughout, including side plank. The floor sequence features Locust variations, Bow Pose, Pigeon Pose on both sides, Baddha Konasana, a seated forward fold (Upavishti Konasana), seated spinal twists, Plow Pose, and Shoulder Stand, closing with supine twists and Savasana followed by seated meditation. Throughout, instructor Michelle Goldstein frames the practice around the yoga sutras — specifically Patanjali's three techniques for stilling the mind (following breath, immersing in body sensation, and observing thought) — and weaves in teachings on luminosity, self-compassion, inner dialogue, and learning to listen. The class suits practitioners looking to build strength and flexibility while cultivating mindfulness and mental clarity, and is particularly beneficial for those dealing with tight hips, tight hamstrings, back tightness, and stress.
