About This Class

Led by Temitope "Timmy Toppe" Sonuyi, this one-hour flow class opens with an extended breathwork primer in child's pose, establishing the mindful, sensation-based awareness that underpins every subsequent pose. The standing sequence progresses through down dog warm-ups (with lateral heel-drop variations), high plank, partial and full chaturanga, cobra, and multiple sun-salutation rounds before moving into asymmetrical standing work: standing splits, airplane pose, crescent lunge, Warrior One with active palm-pressing, Warrior Two, extended side angle, reverse warrior, and triangle. Each side features a grounding-to-twisting transition through half-moon-style lateral plank (Vasisthasana/side plank) and a twisting lunge. The mid-section introduces chair pose with twisted chair variations and a wide-legged yogic squat (malasana) with pulsing squat-to-stand repetitions. The floor sequence includes reverse tabletop with single-leg extensions, bound-angle (Konasana) with a forward fold, seated staff pose with hip-balance challenges, figure-four seated pigeon, supine spinal twists (half happy baby to supine twist), bridge pose with an optional wheel variation, happy baby, and a full supine twist cool-down. Class closes with Savasana and a guided chakra visualization from root to crown. The instructor consistently cues fist or fingertip modifications for wrist sensitivity throughout weight-bearing poses, and emphasizes releasing jaw/lip tension, belly breathing, and non-compulsory participation throughout.

Slow and steady and intense! love the addition of pressing the palms during various postures. Nice modifications offered.

  • Caterina

Powerful! Especially on the legs – but worth every breath! Thank you Temitope!
