About This Class
This energizing morning flow guides students through a progressive, breath-centered practice that opens with seated centering and Ujjayi pranayama before moving into a thorough warm-up of spinal lengthening, seated leg stretches, and core work. The bulk of the class weaves together multiple rounds of Sun Salutation A and B, Crescent Lunge, Warrior One, Warrior Two, Core Twist, Twisting Triangle, Half Moon, Third Warrior, and Standing Split, developing both strength and balance on each side. Unique hip-flexor and glute-med sequences on hands-and-knees — including arm/leg extensions with a reach-back bind — are then taken into standing versions to challenge hip abduction and single-leg stability. The sequence also features Kali Asana (horse stance with mudra), side lunge with arm threading, runner's lunge with quad stretch, and Natarajasana. A floor-based cool-down includes bow pose (Dhanurasana), Locust (Salabhasana), bridge, plow, shoulder stand, a supported fish over a block, supine twists, and Savasana. Throughout, the instructor frames the practice as a moving meditation, consistently cueing breath synchronization, mental presence, and self-compassion, making this class equally suited for physical conditioning and mindfulness cultivation.
