About This Class
This dynamic, asymmetric morning flow is structured as a progressive journey toward Hanumanasana (full splits) as its peak pose, with every preceding sequence intentionally preparing the body for that depth. The class opens in child's pose and Vajrasana with a grounding breath awareness, then moves through thread-the-needle twists on all fours before building into Surya Namaskar A and B — including chair pose, first and second Warrior. The asymmetric work then begins in earnest: single-leg transitions in Downward Dog, low lunge hip-flexor openers, half-splits, and lizard (low lunge with forearms) develop flexibility and hip mobility on each side independently before Hanumanasana is introduced. Arm-balance explorations include dolphin, forearm side plank with leg variations, and one-arm crow (Eka Hasta Bakasana) options. A standing sequence features Dancer's pose (Natarajasana) and balancing hip-flexor stretches. The cool-down weaves Dandasana, Salabhasana, Gomukhasana, table-top glute bridges, Navasana with twists, happy baby, plow, shoulder stand (Sarvangasana), and supine spinal twists before Savasana. Ujjayi breath is the continuous through-line; the instructor consistently links every posture to inward awareness, mindfulness, and releasing stress and tension. Props (blocks, straps) are explicitly offered for modifications throughout.

Great class! Don’t forget to do hanumanasana to the right on your own at the end to avoid being lopsided all day!
