About This Class

This expansive Sunday morning flow class opens with grounding breathwork in a reclined butterfly position, transitions through shoulder stand (held for three minutes as "the king/queen of all yoga poses"), wide-legged forward folds, and spinal twists before building into a repeating floor-to-standing sequence of down dog, plank, cobra, locust, and push-up progressions. The standing work features runners lunge, crescent lunge, prayer twist (Parsvakonasana), extended triangle, warrior flows, and a dedicated hip-flexor/quad release sequence. The class builds deliberately toward its headline pose — Hanumanasana (full splits) — performed on both sides with careful setup and a narrative about the mythological Hanuman leaping to Sri Lanka. Core work includes a sustained bicycle-crunch sequence, "awkward airplane," and core-lunge variations. The class closes with reclined twists, a rocking spinal massage, and an extended Savasana paired with a guided gratitude meditation. Throughout, the instructor emphasises moderation, effort over depth, breath continuity, and non-competition — making the class philosophically rich as well as physically comprehensive.
