About This Class

This class opens in child's pose with an extended foundation of deep, fluid breathing designed to quiet the mind before any physical movement begins. Bryan Kest then guides students through a progressive warm-up — downward facing dog, standing forward bends, and gentle cobras — before layering in two distinct sun-salutation flows that incorporate chair pose, crescent lunge, and warrior one. The middle section introduces standing leg balances with bent-knee variations, extended and twisting triangle, a wide-legged standing forward fold with a lateral twist, and a standing side-bend sequence. Hip-opening highlights include a deep lizard/low-lunge pose with elbows to the floor, a reclined quad stretch from low lunge, and a bow-pose variation on the belly. The class closes with supine knee-to-chest, spinal twists, and a generous Savasana. Throughout, Kest repeatedly coaches students to modulate effort by sensation rather than depth or appearance, making the class accessible across a wide range of bodies and energy levels while still being genuinely challenging for those who engage fully.
