About This Class

This introductory kids yoga class, the first in an emotions-focused series, centers on the theme of self-love. Instructor Amanda Huggins leads children through a warm, imaginative sequence designed to be accessible, silly, and fun — using creative pose names like "Heart Grabbing Pose," "Firework Pose," "Roly Poly Pose," and "Ice Cream Pose" alongside traditional shapes like Child's Pose, Butterfly, Warrior Two, Tree Pose, and Savasana. Throughout the class, Amanda weaves in simple breathwork — big belly breaths with holds — and gentle self-reflection prompts, encouraging kids to think of things they love about themselves. The pace is slow and exploratory, with plenty of room for wiggles and giggles. The class closes with a supine twist, a final hug, a loving self-affirmation, and a short Savasana framed as a "freeze tag nap." It is ideal for young children being introduced to mindfulness and body awareness in a playful, emotionally nurturing context.
