About This Class
In this 5-minute kids' yoga class, instructor Amanda Huggins introduces the concept of equality (sameness) as a playful framework for exploring balance and symmetry in the body. Children are guided through a gentle sequence that moves from seated butterfly pose to kneeling gate pose on both sides, into chair pose with single-leg balance variations, a standing forward fold with peace-sign finger hooks, and a seated straddle side stretch — all with careful attention to working both sides of the body equally. The class wraps up in crisscross applesauce with a closing moment of stillness and self-reflection, encouraging kids to notice how their body feels. The pace is slow and nurturing, with lots of encouragement to wobble, fall, and try again, making it ideal for building early body awareness, focus, and a sense of grounding in young practitioners.
