About This Class

In this short, shape-focused kids yoga class, instructor Amanda Huggins uses the concept of triangles (and squares/rectangles) as a creative lens to help children understand and feel alignment in classic standing poses. Starting with Triangle Pose, Amanda breaks down the geometry of the body — wrist, hip, and armpit — using relatable cues like "tapping mom or dad on the shoulder" to make the shapes tangible. The class flows through Half Moon Pose, where kids look for a square from wrist to foot to armpit to hip, and Pyramid Pose, where the triangle is traced from heel to heel. A wide-legged forward fold in the center adds a brief grounding moment. The sequence is done on both sides and closes with hands at heart center and a Namaste bow. The playful framing around shapes and wobbling makes this class approachable, engaging, and educational for young yogis.
