About This Class

In this imaginative kids' yoga class, instructor Amanda Huggins guides young practitioners through a full-body sequence framed entirely around animals — from a Halloween cat and wagging puppy dog to soaring parrots and fluttering butterflies. The class opens with seated breathwork in Vajrasana to settle the mind, then moves through tabletop cat-cow, sunbird balance, downward facing dog, a hanging forward fold (playfully reimagined as a gorilla or elephant), standing balance poses modeled on birds in flight, a wide-legged seated straddle with side folds, butterfly pose, and a final Shavasana where kids are invited to imagine their favorite sleeping animal. Throughout, the instructor normalizes wobbling and falling, encourages laughter, and prompts children to use their creativity to name and embody each animal shape. The pacing is gentle and accessible, with consistent breath cues and a warm, encouraging tone that makes this ideal for young beginners or any child needing a fun, calming movement break.
