About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a 67-minute vigorous flow built on a deceptively simple premise: breathe deeply, move calmly, and let moderation be the true challenge. The class opens in Child's Pose with an extended meditation on nasal breathing and mindfulness, then moves through several rounds of a modified Sun Salutation that adds side stretches and a power-yoga Cat-Cow warm-up. A substantial standing balance sequence — including single-leg squats on tiptoe, Warrior III-style airplane balancing, standing splits prep, and twisting one-legged variations — targets the legs, hips, and core while demanding focus and equanimity. Upper-body and arm-balancing work is woven in via Three-Legged Dog, Side Plank with modifications on the forearm or knee, and a prone arm-and-leg extension. A two-minute bicycle crunch sequence addresses the core with both bent- and straight-leg variations. The floor sequence includes Cobra pulses and a sustained Cobra hold, toe-stretching Hero's Pose variations, a wide-legged forward fold with interlaced hands, and a supine knee-squeeze to close. The class ends with a deliberately extended Savasana, framed as the culminating purpose of the entire practice. Throughout, Bryan emphasizes breath synchronization with movement, releasing the ego, pacing for longevity, and treating calmness itself as a fitness quality.

Less flow and more holds – first warmup series, standing balances, arm balances, and bicycle.

Love the tempo. I can’t say enough about deep breathing. At my age reenforcing balance and deep knee bends, so appreciated. Thanks for another one.
