About This Class
This class is as much a meditation retreat as a physical practice. Bryan Kest opens on the floor with reclined twists, supine hip openers, and bridge pose before building gradually into shoulder stand, plow, and a methodical standing flow that includes down dog, cobra, crescent lunge, warrior variations, twisting triangle, and an extensive balancing sequence on each leg. The pace is deliberately unhurried — students are coached repeatedly to find the "sweet spot" between too much and not enough, to move sensually rather than aggressively, and to protect calmness at all costs. Core work, dolphin pose, and deep seated stretches (bound angle, wide-leg forward fold, bow/archer pose) precede a long final sequence of supine hip and hamstring openers, spinal twists, and a multi-minute seated gratitude and breath-awareness meditation before Savasana. Throughout, Bryan frames the physical practice as a vehicle for quieting mental chatter, breaking the mind's habitual patterns, and cultivating a benevolent mental state — making breath continuity the single unifying thread of the entire class.
