About This Class
Bryan Kest leads this expansive flow by easing students in on their backs with diaphragmatic breathing, reclined spinal twists, bridge pose, shoulder stand, plow, and reclining pigeon before methodically building heat through sun salutation A, crescent lunge variations, and the more complex Salutation C—which adds standing balance, chair pose, side twists, low lunge with forearms to the floor, and bound standing sequences. The standing segment features warrior-like wide-leg poses, triangle-style twists, standing forward folds with arm binds, and a deep bound side angle that escalates to a full wrap for those ready. Camel pose and a prone cobra series round out the back-bending work before students return to the floor for supine twists, a rocking spinal massage, and a seated forward fold progression. The practice closes with three sequential seated meditations—focus/concentration ("wisdom"), gratitude, and compassion—followed by Savasana. Throughout, Bryan frames the class as equally a mental practice: he emphasizes non-reactivity, non-judgment, and presence as core wellness skills, making this class as much a mindfulness training as a physical workout.
