About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a sweeping, breath-centered flow that moves through nearly every dimension of the body: upper-body strengthening in plank, cobra, and side-arm balances; hip-opening and balancing sequences including three-legged dog variations with one hand behind the back; deep lunges with quad stretches; standing and kneeling balance poses; Hanumanasana (full splits) on both sides; a spread-leg forward fold; core work with leg lowers; and finishing inversions in plow and shoulderstand. Throughout, Bryan emphasizes making challenges "sensuous rather than painful," keeping the breath steady even through difficulty, and treating the body as a sacred partner. The class is framed as a practice of equanimity — using physical challenge as a metaphor for life's vicissitudes — and closes with supine twists and a long Savasana. Modifications and the option to exit early are consistently offered, making this accessible to a range of practitioners willing to honor their own limits.

whew. this class challenged me, and i am so grateful for that opportunity. yoga brings our experience more deeply into focus — which is what i love about the practice and why it’s so beneficial, and also why it’s often difficult. my mind is reeling through grief, and i absolutely resisted coming to my practice today, and it is of course exactly what i needed. this particular class, while moving with a steady pace and effectively moving through just about every place in the body, created a lot of space for quiet reflection. i noticed myself fighting to stay present with my breath and with compassion for my experience, and even had to pause a few times just to cry. as always, the thoughtful and wise guidance reminded me that it was all appropriate. i can’t tell you how much it meant to me to have this sanctuary at this time. although grief may very well be staying with me for a while, i gained a little strength and sense of calm through this class that i don’t take for granted. thank you, B.K., & Melissa.

All around nice. I love the pace. Even though I’m working on strength and balance, I’m stretching. The stretching feels wonderful releasing tension. Another great one. Thank you
