About This Class

Bryan Kest leads this wide-ranging dynamic flow through a rich sequence that begins with child's pose and breathwork before moving into a rhythmic sun-salutation-style flow (down dog, cobra, plank, forward folds, standing side bends). The heart of the class features an extended one-legged balancing series — including warrior III variations, "cry plane," bent-knee balancing, and arm-balance prep with knee-to-tricep — interleaved with deep crescent lunge hip openers, pigeon-style hip stretches, quad stretches, and a bound side-angle variation. The class then transitions to the floor for reclined hero (saddle), butterfly/bound angle, boat-pose core work with spinal twists, and a final supine twist before a long, mindfulness-focused savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently returns to the theme of breath as the primary work of the class, framing every physical challenge as an opportunity to cultivate mental calmness, self-acceptance, and gentle, sensuous engagement rather than ego-driven effort. The tone is philosophical, humorous, and deeply non-competitive, making it equally accessible to beginners and experienced practitioners willing to self-regulate intensity.

Yowzers. This one packs a punch! A really great opportunity to practice calmness amidst the challenges, and find humility. I caught a glimpse of your beautiful canine companion in this one, as well — must have heard all those references to Downdoggie and wondered if you needed another lovely yoga model. So grateful to all of you.
