About This Class

Bryan Kest leads a 69-minute dynamic yoga class that weaves together a rich variety of poses under a consistent guiding principle: meet your body with gentleness and breath as your compass. The class begins in Child's Pose, establishing deep, smooth, free-flowing breath as the foundation before moving through Down Dog, Cat-Cow-style spinal warming movements on hands and knees (knee-to-elbow and arm-balance prep work), Cobra, Plank, and a fluid Sun Salutation-style vinyasa flow. The standing sequence is extensive and progressive: Crescent Lunge, Twisting Lunge (Grandma Twist), Prayer Twist, Twisting Triangle, Triangle Pose, Extended Triangle (Utthita Trikonasana), Prasarita Padottanasana (wide-legged forward fold), and a challenging Bird of Paradise — all introduced on both sides. Deep hip openers in a low lunge and reclined pigeon-style positions prepare the hips and hamstrings throughout. The floor cool-down includes a double-pigeon-style seated pose (Fire Log/Agnistambhasana), supine spinal twists, and a long, mindful Savasana anchored in a guided gratitude meditation. Bryan consistently cues modifications (blocks, fists, bent knees, early exits), names no specific cautions, and frames every pose as a personal buffet where sensation — not depth — is the goal. The class suits students seeking to improve hip mobility, hamstring flexibility, spinal health, and mental stillness simultaneously.
