About This Class
This extended "strong but gentle" class with Bryan Kest opens in Child's Pose and builds slowly through Down Dog, a flowing kneeling side-balance series, Cobra, locust variations, and Camel before descending into wide-legged forward folds, seated hip openers, and a supine core sequence. A supported shoulderstand (Plow/Legs-up) serves as the crowning inversion before the class closes in deep spinal twists and an extended Savasana. Throughout, Bryan's central teaching is breath: deep, free, nasal breathing is framed as the primary tool for quieting the mind and dissolving stress. Every pose is offered with multiple modifications — blocks, fingertips, bent knees, skipping entirely — so practitioners of any body type or ability level can find their personal expression. The pacing is slow and deliberate with no jumping between poses; each shape melts into the next. Balance work, quad stretches, hamstring lengthening, hip flexor opening, and gentle spinal twists are all woven in, making this ideal for those dealing with stiffness from sitting, tight hips, tight hamstrings, back tightness, or general stress. The instructor explicitly notes that yoga should conform to you, not the other way around, and consistently invites students to back off, modify, or rest whenever needed.

Recognize the intention of something new, different and refreshing, but for me resulted in awkward off of the mat poses almost always on the knees. Didn’t feel as a balanced practice

For those days when awkward and unique sounds better than comfortable and familiar.

I love love love the pace of the livestream classes – maybe it’s my age – but I just don’t want to move too quickly anymore during yoga – and I still want it to be challenging – I haven’t found anyone who combines slow(er) and hard(er) elements like you! Thank you ?

That was awesome! Awkward maybe but so fun and lots of super stretches. Not the same ol’. Thank you Bryan for shaking things up a little.

Magnificent, Bryan, your practice was magical! Half the fun was in fine-tuning my Simon Says skills. May the New Year bring to our planet Light, Peace, and ample Healing.
