About This Class

Bryan Kest leads this expansive 95-minute power yoga flow with a philosophy-first approach, framing every physical movement as secondary to deep nasal breathing and a quiet mind. The class opens in child's pose and builds gradually through a sun-salutation-style "power yoga stroll" — a flowing sequence of downward dog, cobra, plank, standing forward folds, and warriors — repeated multiple times on both sides to warm the body organically. Hip-opening sequences are central, featuring low lizard lunge with elbows to the floor, pigeon-style hip openers, and standing frog, alongside deep hamstring stretches, twists, and shoulder-opening backbends including bow pose (grabbing the ankles). The inversion sequence includes plow and shoulderstand, held with care and reverence. Core work appears through leg-lift balances and plank variations. Throughout, Bryan consistently encourages modification, self-compassion, and tuning into sensation rather than pushing to extremes. The class closes with supine twists, a rocking roll-up to seated, and an extended gratitude meditation in stillness before a long savasana.
