About This Class

Bryan Kest leads a sweeping, floor-to-standing Power Yoga flow designed to touch virtually every corner of the body while training the mind to stay calm, present, and focused through sustained deep breathing. The class opens supine with butterfly, supine twists, and a three-minute shoulder stand to reverse gravity's effects on the vital organs, then transitions through child's pose into down dog before launching into a repeating vinyasa cycle of standing forward folds, cobra progressions, and locust. The bulk of the class is spent in a richly layered standing sequence — runner's lunge, low lunge hip openers, one-handed down dog, twisted down dog, knee-to-elbow core work, side-angle variations, extended and reverse triangle, hero pose, and wide-legged standing forward folds with shoulder-bind — explored on both sides. Back-bending is addressed through bridge, baby cobra, deeper cobra, locust, and a modified camel pose. Core strength is developed through a seated boat-pose sequence with oblique twists. The practice closes with a five-minute seated gratitude meditation and a generous Savasana. Throughout, Bryan emphasizes moderation over ego, sensation-based decision-making, and the meditative power of smooth, deep nasal breathing as the primary technique for quieting the mind.

Very strong yin type flow. Long holds and continuous movement. Good and different type flow challenge.

Excellent all-encompassing flow the breaks up Bryan’s typical routine! Revealing strength poses, complimented by perfectly timed deep stretches.
