About This Class

Bryan Kest leads this rich, 70-minute dynamic flow class at Light in Space, framing the entire practice as a moving meditation anchored by deep, fluid nasal breathing. The class opens in Child's Pose to settle the mind, then builds through repeated rounds of six core sun-salutation movements — Down Dog, Forward Fold, standing, Plank, Cobra, and back to Down Dog — with breath and movement synchronized throughout. From this foundation, Bryan layers in increasingly complex sequences on both sides: Dolphin Pose, Three-Legged Dog, knee-to-elbow core transitions, Side Plank variations, low lunges, Runner's Lunge with twists, an unconventional arm-reaching sequence, Triangle Pose with a bind, Hero Pose, and Pigeon Pose for deep hip release. A sustained floor sequence follows, featuring Locust Pose with interlaced hands, Bow Pose, a gentle inversion (Plow/Shoulderstand), and a scissor-leg core series. The class closes with supine twists, Half-Lotus forward folds, and an extended Savasana. Bryan consistently invites modification, celebrates personal pace over aesthetics, and returns throughout to the philosophy that mental calmness — cultivated through breath — is the deepest benefit of practice.
