About This Class

Bryan Kest leads this sweeping Friday flow with a deliberately gentle opening — supine hip openers, bridge variations, shoulder stand, plow, and fish — before steadily building into one of his most complete full-body sequences. The class moves through dolphin, down dog twists and arm variations, an elaborate single-leg balancing series (standing splits, bent-knee balance, bow-grip, and "awkward airplane"), deep lunge work including crescent lunge, prayer twist, and Anumanasana (half-splits), cobra, locust, and three rounds of push-up-style chin-taps. Bryan threads mindfulness and breathwork throughout, repeatedly cueing students to return to deep, fluid breathing as both a physical barometer and a meditative focal point. The class closes with supine twists and a long, intentional Savasana. Bryan explicitly frames the practice as a tool for dissolving tension, quieting the mind, and counteracting the effects of stress — making it ideal for end-of-week recovery, stiffness from sitting, tight hips and hamstrings, and general mobility maintenance.

Really really enjoyable class. I like to “do the work” and this “Higher Class of Movement” brought it! Legs! Arms! Back! The works! Added it to my “favorites” and will revisit it again. I’m a daily practitioner with you on poweryoga.com at 6 a.m EST…I do the live stream from the day before (East Coast Florida so your 9 a.m. PST is a little late for me here). Can’t tell you how thankful I am that your library is available, particularly during this season of pandemic. Thank you thank you, Bryan & Melissa! – Jen
