About This Class
Bryan Kest leads this expansive, unhurried flow that opens on the back with conscious deep breathing, supine twists, bridge, shoulder stand, and plow before rolling up into a wide-legged forward fold and lateral stretches. From there the class builds through several rounds of a Sun Salutation-style vinyasa — cobra, plank, and downward dog — woven into a sequence Bryan describes as a "yogic version of Tai Chi." Standing work includes Warrior One, Warrior Two, crescent lunge, runner's lunge, a variety of balancing poses (airplane/Warrior Three, bent-knee balance, figure-four/Pigeon-prep), and extended triangle, all peppered with grandma twists and extended-lunge crunches. Floor work returns for prone back-bending (locust, bow, full cobra), a seated core series, seated twists, supine spinal twists, and a deep hip-flexor sequence in a low lunge/Pigeon variation. The class closes with a sustained gratitude meditation in a tall seated position followed by an open-ended Savasana. Throughout, Bryan's primary teaching cue is deep, fluid nasal breathing as the anchor for mindfulness, calm, and physical release — framing the practice as an act of self-care rather than athletic performance.
