About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a long, sweeping power yoga flow that begins with breath-focused meditation training before building methodically through three distinct warm-up sequences. The class moves from child's pose and downward dog into sun-salutation-style flows incorporating cobra, crescent lunge, spinal twists, and standing balances such as dancer pose and airplane. Backbend depth is progressively developed through repeated cobra variations, bow pose (grabbing ankles), and an optional full wheel-entry backbend, while inversions arrive via shoulder stand and plow. The floor sequence delivers spread-leg forward folds, a reclining pigeon-style hip stretch, supine twists, and shoulder-stand/plow before a seated close. Throughout, Bryan returns relentlessly to breath awareness as the primary tool for focus and meditation, framing the physical practice as preparation for a formal compassion meditation. The class ends in Savasana. The tone is both highly challenging and deeply philosophical, emphasizing moderation, personal expression, and cultivating calmness as a trainable quality.

Strong slow flow – on floor at 1:06 for stretching. Relaxed and sweetly fatigued.
