About This Class

Bryan Kest leads this aptly titled "Zen as F**k" class with a philosophy of radical gentleness — consistently cueing students to work at 50% of their max, find sweet sensation over strain, and separate action from reaction. The class opens in Child's Pose with an extended focus on deep, nasal breathing as a foundation for presence and stress relief. It builds progressively through Down Dog variations, one-armed balancing sequences (Supreme Balancing), push-up flows (chin-to-ground, not nipples), Cobra, and Plank, weaving in thoracic shoulder openers (hand finagled between the scapulas) and hip/side-body stretches throughout. A significant portion of the middle and later sections is dedicated to deep hip and psoas work: low runners lunge, crescent lunge, sinking warrior, twisted lunge prayer, and a floor-based quad/psoas stretch with a bound heel pull. Two one-minute Warrior (Hero Pose/Virabhadrasana II-style) holds anchor the standing section with a mindfulness challenge — staying calm as sensation grows. Triangle (called "Cry-angle" / core muscle triangle) and standing forward folds with interlaced fingers round out the standing work. The class finishes on the floor with supine twists, knee-to-chest squeezes, and an extended Savasana framed as a mind-mastery meditation — observing the breath and lengthening the space between thoughts.

This is borderline vigorous class, at least in my book:) But amazingly energizing! Strong on the arms, shoulders and legs. Stay to the end for wonderful words of wisdom as we approach the holidays. Total resonance and gratitude! Namaste to all!
