About This Class

Byron leads this inventively structured 90-minute flow by swapping out the conventional chaturanga-updog-downdog vinyasa for repeated forearm plank–sphinx–bow pose cycles, making the class accessible to wrist-sensitive practitioners while still building significant heat. The sequence opens in child's pose with intentional pranayama (nasal breathing with breath suspensions), then moves through bird-dog, plank, downward facing dog, and standing warm-up folds before layering in crescent lunges, Warrior One, Warrior Two, reverse warrior, extended side angle, humble warrior, triangle, twisting triangle, twisting half moon, eagle pose, half moon, standing splits, Warrior Three, half splits, and full splits (Hanumanasana) for those ready. Backbend depth builds progressively from cobra through sphinx, bow pose, and a deeper bow variation. Hip openers include a flowing three-legged dog hip rotation, pigeon pose (with supine modification offered for knee safety), reclined happy baby, and yogi squat with optional bind. The practice closes with plow pose/shoulder stand option, supine twists, and an extended savasana. Byron consistently cues breath retention, nasal breathing, core engagement, and a "vacation for the mind" mindset, framing the class as functional, intelligent movement for everyday life.

Very different, very enjoyable practice. Creative flow, nice pace and, yes, trying to keep up with something different does keep your mind from wandering! Thank you!
