About This Class

This dynamic core class builds functional strength throughout the entire trunk — abs, lower back, obliques, and spinal stabilizers — using a carefully sequenced progression of floor work, standing poses, and brief vinyasa transitions. The class opens supine with spinal twists and slow bicycle crunches, then moves through leg-lowering challenges, Happy Baby, and spinal balancing (bird-dog) on all fours. Standing work links forward folds with Warrior One and a twisting half moon to develop rotational core awareness. Back-body strength is emphasized through Cobra repetitions, full-body Locust (arms and legs wide), and a forearm-plank-to-plank progression. Navasana (boat pose) with lift-offs appears in multiple rounds to intensify the challenge. The class closes with seated spinal twists in half lotus, a low Navasana finisher, and an extended Savasana guided by a breath-awareness technique called Nishtadharana. The instructor consistently cues Ujjayi breath, navel-to-spine engagement, and slow deliberate movement as the primary intensity tools, making the practice as much about mindful breath control as physical output.
