About This Class
Tornado Flow is a demanding yet philosophically rich full-body class built on the principle that breath-awareness transforms physical movement into genuine yoga. Bryan Kest opens with an extended child's pose and downward dog warm-up, emphasizing deep, free breathing and moderation over ego-driven effort. The class then escalates through multiple rounds of sun-salutation-style flows (plank, cobra, down dog), bilateral bird-dog variations, and an intricate one-arm balance sequence on each side featuring transitions through side plank, knee-to-elbow, twisted low lunge, revolved side angle, extended triangle, and a bound variation. Back-body strengthening is woven throughout via cobra repetitions, locust arms, and bow pose. The lower body receives deep attention through warrior one, warrior two, lizard/pigeon-style hip openers, and a wide-legged seated forward fold with lateral walks. The class closes with a plow/shoulder stand inversion, a supine spinal twist, and an extended savasana with explicit guidance to let the mind settle. Bryan repeatedly frames challenge as an opportunity to practice calm — making the class as much a mental-endurance workout as a physical one.

haven’t practiced in about 2 weeks and FL is under a hurricane watch, so I figured I’d keep the theme going with the Tornado Flow….maybe a tiny bit tender tomorrow, but oh so chill-laxed. Thank you!

This practice begins with classic Power Yoga philosophy and wisdom, beginning by bringing Yoga to the forefront of the class, which perfectly compliments the vigorous, strengthening Asanas that follow.
