About This Class
This class opens with an extended settling-in period centred entirely on nasal breathing and present-moment focus before building into a carefully scaffolded warm-up flow. Bryan breaks down a six-movement sun-salutation sequence — downward facing dog, forward fold, standing reach, plank, cobra, and back to down dog — then layers it into a continuous flow repeated multiple times with lunges and squats added progressively. The standing section introduces warrior-style lunges, warrior-variation side stretches, extended side angle, twisting triangle, and a wide-legged forward fold with a shoulder stretch. Balancing sequences feature "awkward airplane" — a one-legged balance with arms extended — and single-leg lifts in various planes. A demanding floor series includes locust-style bow pose held for a 15-count, followed by core work (boat-pose leg lowers and raises), plow, shoulder stand, supine spinal twists, and a final savasana. Throughout, Bryan returns repeatedly to the theme of working to one's own degree, breathing freely through challenge, and treating the practice as a moving meditation to counter everyday stress. Props are not called for. Knee sensitivity is acknowledged in the low-lunge and hero-pose sections, with knee-down modifications offered consistently.
