About This Class
Bryan Kest leads this dynamic, 70-minute flow class with the core thesis that yoga is fundamentally a meditation practice, with the physical postures serving as an anchor for deep, continuous nasal breathing and a quiet mind. The class opens in child's pose and builds methodically through a rich warm-up sequence: down dog with single-leg lifts and knee-to-elbow core sequences, cobra series, locust/bow progressions, and push-ups woven throughout. Standing work includes rag doll forward folds, wide-legged forward bends, extended triangle, and goddess/wide-squat with overhead reach. A notable floor sequence explores a wide-knee frog-like hip opener with forearm support. The class then moves to the back for supine figure-four hip stretches, core-intensive straight-leg lowering and hollowing sequences, and spinal twists, before closing with a seated gratitude meditation and savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently encourages students to honor their own body, exit poses early, and use the physical challenge as practice for maintaining calmness under pressure. No explicit injury cautions beyond general self-awareness are issued.
