About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a full-spectrum, hour-long dynamic flow class built around a single guiding principle: wellness through gentle, mindful contact with every part of the body. The class opens in Child's Pose with an extended focus on deep nasal breathing and mental quietude — framed as the true differentiator of yoga from other physical activity. From there, the sequence flows through Downward Facing Dog, a baby arm balance (side plank variation), Cobra and Plank vinyasas, standing forward folds, lateral side stretches, Warrior/Crescent Lunge transitions, half-moon-style standing balances, lizard-style deep hip openers, bow pose (Dhanurasana), locust variations, shoulder openers, a deep knee bend squat with interlaced fingers overhead, Boat Pose (Navasana) with core twists, a plow-pose transition, shoulder stand, supine twists, and a deeply held Savasana. Bryan consistently cues practitioners to modify — dropping a knee, using a block, or skipping a pose — and explicitly flags wrist sensitivity as a reason to skip certain arm balance variations. The overall intention is total-body mobilization at a sustainable, non-aggressive effort level, with the physical practice serving as a moving meditation designed to cultivate mental stillness, reduce stress, and prepare the body and mind for deep relaxation.

A very well-rounded, classic B.K. practice to add the favorites queue. Nice, dynamic vinyasa warm-up with a solid sprinkling of balance; upper and lower body strengthening and lengthening; and stamina. Ending with a complimentary closing sequence with a little extra time in the queen of all postures.

This was on the vigorous side, challenging in every way… requiring lots of balancing, strength, stamina and knowing when to back off. Keeping this one as one of my favorites so I don’t hide from the challenge of cultivating strength, balance and calmness. Thanks Bryan!
