About This Class

This 100-minute Santa Monica morning flow opens in child's pose with an extended introduction to nasal, deep, and smooth ujjayi breathing as the primary meditative anchor throughout class. The physical practice builds organically from downward facing dog and cobra warm-ups into layered sun-salutation flows that progressively add crescent lunge, twisting lunge, standing splits, warrior variations, and revolved side-angle-style forearm-to-floor variations. Standing balance sequences include extended hand-to-big-toe, warrior III / airplane, half-moon, and a deep single-leg squat-to-airplane transition. The floor sequence covers prone back-strengthening (locust and bow), deep cobra exploration, seated toe balance with a bound twist, supine core work (leg lifts and oblique twists), supine bound angle, supine hip openers (figure-four / happy baby, reclined straddle), plow, and shoulderstand. The class closes with reclined spinal twists, a rocking transition to seated, a formal naming of ujjayi pranayama, and several minutes of a seated gratitude meditation followed by savasana. Throughout, Bryan consistently encourages students to back off rather than push, frames the practice as a "yoga buffet," and emphasizes mental calm and equanimity as the highest goal of the session.
