About This Class
Sunday Roast is a full-length, full-body flow class that earns its name with sustained heat and effort. Bryan Kest begins with an intentionally prolonged "yin-ish" warm-up: supine bound-angle breathing, bridge pose, shoulder stand, plow, and wide-legged seated forward folds (center, right, and left) — all performed slowly to prepare the body for what's ahead. From there, the class builds through three layered sun-salutation sequences, each adding complexity: the first introduces the basic six-movement flow (standing forward fold, squat-reach, plank, cobra, down dog); the second adds chair pose (utkatasana) and crescent lunges; the third incorporates standing leg lifts, side stretches, interlaced-hands forward fold, crescent lunge with core twist, lizard/low lunge elbow variations, and down-dog twists. The main standing sequence then moves into flying-crow prep (knee-to-elbow), lizard twist, triangle, twisting triangle, warrior one, standing wide-legged forward fold, and a deep bound side-angle pose. Arm-balance and strength work appears throughout: extended one-arm/one-leg plank (awkward airplane), bow-pose variations, locust, tabletop, and a supine core series. Every pose is framed through a meditative lens — Bryan continuously invites students back to deep, fluid breath as the primary focal point, treating the physical practice as a vehicle for mindfulness and presence. The class closes with supine twists, knees-to-chest rocking, and an extended savasana anchored by a guided gratitude meditation.

Thank you, Bryan for this moderate class. I liked the variation of the frog asana.
