About This Class
This class opens on the floor with supine hip work — figure four, half happy baby, and spinal twists — before building into a full standing flow. Students move through multiple rounds of Sun Salutation-style Vinyasa, crescent lunges with shoulder-bind variations, eagle pose with intense squeezing cues, revolving and extended side angle, warrior sequences, twisting triangle, and side plank. The second half features an extended floor series targeting the quadriceps and hip flexors through deep low-lunge quad stretches, bow pose, pigeon with a quad-catch, and a sphinx variation. The class closes with supine reclined twists, happy baby, and a generous Savasana. Throughout, instructor Rudy Mettia emphasizes contemplation over mindless repetition — using the breath as a focal point and encouraging students to tune inward rather than simply execute shapes. The tone is vigorous yet philosophically rich, blending intense physical challenge with ongoing invitations to notice sensation, ease, and mental state.
