About This Class
This one-hour flow class by Bryan Kest is built around a single governing principle: breathe deeply, move honestly, and never push past your personal edge. Beginning in child's pose and downward facing dog, students are eased into a dress-rehearsal flow — cobra, plank, crescent lunge, and standing forward fold — before repeating the sequence with increasing coordination of breath and movement. The class then expands into standing balances (warrior-style and warrior III-adjacent flying poses), hip openers (low lunge with forearms, a deep groin sequence), twists, wide-legged forward folds, and seated/supine core work including boat-pose variations, plow, shoulder stand, and spinal twists. Throughout, the instructor consistently invites students to modify, rest, or skip poses entirely, emphasizing quality of sensation over quantity of effort. The session closes with a supine squeeze, savasana, and an extended invitation to stay and rest. The overall ethos is meditative — yoga as healing rather than performance — making it ideal for mid-week stress relief, recovery from sitting, or anyone needing a mindful, full-body reset.

Maybe it’s because I’ve spent the past four days shoveling and commuting 14 miles through the snow, but I was remarkably challenged by this flow. As always, I was reminded that only in accepting myself in the present and finding my own personal place between too much and not enough could this class be Smooth & Easy. Thankfully, the heart of this practice is finding calm amidst difficulty, represented by the breath spilling deep and free, allowing me to remember Yoga has nothing to do with the movements, but everything to do with the quality of the mind performing them. Thank you, Bryan.
