About This Class

Dan Ward guides this approachable gentle yoga class with a clear focus on shoulder health and upper-body release. The session opens in Virasana with breath awareness and seated shoulder-wrap stretches, then moves through extended puppy pose, thread-the-needle, Sphinx pose, and belly-down shoulder-rolling openers. A slow Sun Salutation sequence bridges the floor work to standing, where arm circles, shoulder dips in a wide-leg stance, and Eagle arm variations continue to mobilize the shoulder girdle. Balance work on a block with pendulum leg swings builds proprioception, while chair pose with a block between the knees adds mindful leg strengthening. Low lunge sequences with thoracic rotation, lizard-style hip openers, and lateral side-body stretches broaden the release to the hips, spine, and side body. The class closes with supine hamstring stretches, a gentle bridge, supine twists, and an extended Savasana invitation. Dan's cueing emphasises smooth breath, peaceful effort, and compassionate attention to tight or stiff areas throughout.

That felt amazing, especially after a tough upper body strength workout. Lots of delicious stretches and Dan’s mellow instruction. Thank you!

Bless you, Dan, I was not able to do my yoga practices for about four months, having sustained significant soft tissue injuries within my shoulder. My daughter suggested that I manage into your Shoulder Love practice; with modifications, I was deeply grateful for your guidance. I will daily return to your practice, until I fully recover. Shoulder Love was a perfect way to start the New Year. You, sir, are of phenomenal Spirit. Namaste

Been dealing with shoulder impingement which gets exacerbated at work. Needed some gentle stretch, strengthening, and range of motion. I always come to Dan’s classes when I’m feeling like I just need to take care of my body. So valuable!!
