About This Class
In "Sacredness and Strength," Bryan Kest leads a nearly two-hour flow class rooted in the principle that the breath—deep and free—is the foundation of every movement and the gateway to a quiet mind. The class opens lying on the back with a gentle butterfly stretch and spinal twists, easing the body in with extreme care before progressing into bridge, shoulder stand, and plow. A sun-salutation-style vinyasa sequence (standing fold, plank, cobra, down dog) repeats several times, building heat gradually. The standing balance series is extensive and methodically layered: single-leg standing folds, warrior-III-style airplane balancing, half-moon variations, figure-four standing balance, and single-leg extensions with twists. Upper body and core strength are addressed through crow/elbow balance and tripod headstand attempts, as well as locust, bow, and cobra backbends. Deep hip openers—pigeon-style splits, sleeping pigeon, gomukhasana-adjacent seated hip work, and a wide-knee seated forward fold—dominate the second half of the floor sequence. A profound supine spinal twist with one knee out to the side rounds out the body. The class closes with an extended seated and supine gratitude meditation. Bryan consistently names cautions around menstruation and inversion, and encourages students to kneel or back off at any time, framing restraint as the real yogic challenge.

Legitimately one of the best classes of thousands I’ve taken. Thank you, Bryan!

Thank you, Bryan and Melissa, for an exquisite class and return to the mat after 2 weeks of travel during which my yoga practice was off the mat. Thank you for always inviting me into my self, by body, my breath, bringing them into the sacred harmony of life. blessings to you and to all who share the practice! namaste, beth

So good. I especially loved that big twist stretch at the end.
