About This Class
Bryan Kest leads an expansive, philosophy-rich dynamic flow built around deep nasal breathing as the central discipline. The class opens gently on the floor with child's pose, supine butterfly, and spinal twists before progressing through shoulder stand and plow variations. The heart of the class is three increasingly complex "warm-up sequences" — each a flowing sun-salutation-style cycle that adds crescent lunges, warrior one, core twists, forearm-inside-lunge (lizard), triangle, airplane/warrior three variations, side plank progressions, and balance challenges including "supreme balancing" and "awkward airplane." Hip flexors, hamstrings, and the full spine are targeted through lizard-pose holds, dynamic triangle, and deep backbends including cobra and a yin-leaning reclined bow. Upper-body strength is built through repeated plank holds, chaturanga-style lowering, and extended plank. The class closes with seated butterfly fold, reverse tabletop pulses, supine leg lifts, final twists, and a long savasana paired with a guided gratitude meditation. Bryan emphasizes moderation, breath freedom, ego humility, and mindfulness throughout, framing the physical practice as maintenance and the breathwork and mental training as the real yoga.
