About This Class
Bryan Kest leads a full-body dynamic flow that builds progressively from child's pose and downward-facing dog through multiple rounds of sun-salutation-style flows, integrating crescent lunges, core twists, and deep hip-opening low lunge variations. The class layers in standing balance challenges with extended-leg balances and chair pose on tiptoes, then moves to the floor for cobra, bow pose, and a deep forearm down-dog variation. A rich seated sequence explores bound-angle forward fold, boat pose with archer variations, and wide-leg balance with oblique twists. The practice concludes with plow/legs-overhead, fish pose, supine twists, and a guided gratitude meditation in stillness. Throughout, Bryan emphasizes breath as the primary guide, radical self-responsibility, sensuous pacing ("make it feel right"), and finding a modest, sustainable degree of effort. Props are used by some students (blanket and block for squatting poses), and modifications are consistently offered for every major shape. The overall arc is one of physical preparation meeting mental training — the yoga practice framed explicitly as a miniature life rehearsal for presence and equanimity.

love the chair poses as they build heat through the sequence and also the opposing wheel poses to strengthen the back. added to my favorites!
