About This Class

Bryan Kest leads a 65-minute dynamic flow class framed as a "maintenance practice" — a philosophy woven into every cue. The class opens in Child's Pose with breath-deepening, then builds through Down Dog, Bird-Dog (opposite arm/leg extensions), Baby Cobra and full Cobra, Locust (arms and legs lifted), and a flowing Sun Salutation-style vinyasa. Standing work features a rich sequence on each side: Three-Legged Dog to knee-to-elbow transitions, Wild Thing/Side Plank, low Lunge, a twisting lunge variation, Twisting Triangle, Triangle Pose, Warrior II (called "the hero"), and Extended Side Angle. A wide-legged forward fold with a spinal twist deepens the hip and hamstring work. The floor sequence introduces a reclined hero/saddle variation for quads and hip flexors, then moves into a pigeon-style hip opener (one knee bent back, one leg extended) with a lateral crawl toward the straight leg, followed by a straddle-side stretch. Core work includes a double-leg-raise scissors variation and Boat-style reach. The class closes with Plow Pose, Shoulder Stand, supine twists, and a sustained Savasana with breath-awareness meditation. Bryan consistently frames every pose as a suggestion, encourages creative modification (fists, blocks, fingertips, dropping the knee), and references wrist sensitivity and the natural lumbar curve. The tone is warm, conversational, and deeply personal — grounded in Bryan's own 40-year practice and his rule to only teach what he practices himself.

Really lovely chilled evening/pre-bedtime flow. Love the brahma flow inspired standing sequence. Haven’t done that in ages. Thanks for sharing your practice. Also loving the stability and consistency of these practices which are so special in this crazy world.

Wonderful flow to get back into the swing of things, definitely approachable when feeling a bit tired or fragile!
